Eminor (イーマイナー) is a song released on May 6, 2018, featuring vflower.
Background[]
Eminor (イーマイナー) is Iyowa's third song. It has an official MV, but it is not available for streaming on any streaming services.
The description of the MV on Niconico states the following.
This is Iyowa. This is my third production. My stomach [胃 (i)] is weak [弱い (yowai)], so I am Iyowa. If you think, "This isn't in the key of E minor, is it?" please listen until the chorus, because there's a key modulation...
This time, I tried something new with the song's illustration, the pictures, and video. I would be happy if you think of this as one of Iyowa's styles.
The girl's name is Mai (マイ) which was confirmed in the April Fool's visual novel trailer.
Meaning[]
This song is about a musician coming to terms with the death of her close friend.

Japanese | English |
If you bring it with you, take it back |
You won't be able to abandon it |
Whines and tears spilled forth |
The season of farewells, in a bit of a rush, |
アツレキばかりの暮らしの抜け殻は | but the husk of a life with nothing but discord |
Shouldering a heavy hardcase, |
I walked on |
I hate songs that can be played entirely with simple chords" |
口を尖らせてたあなたが | because they felt like you, who was pouting, |
小突きに来てくれる気がしたから | were coming to prod me |
With my numbed fingertips and withered voice, |
C D |
I'm singing my love through a C-D-Em progression |
I'm killing time as the reds, greens,[1] and yellows change |
Now, even singing of love and the like |
後味は悪いだろうな | seems to leave a bad aftertaste |
Things I don't have |
変換履歴のどこへやら | are lost in my conversion history[2] |
I wish I could come up with even one corny joke |
ぶつけられりゃいいのにな | and hit you with it |
What I suddenly remembered |
夢を語った日 | was the day we talked about our dreams |
We'll show them, who made fun of this song" |
Because ahead of that telling gaze, |
I could be seen walking by your side. |
I thought I would warm my numbed fingertips |
I was sure that the day you die would be the day I die, too |
| I hate songs that can be played entirely with simple chords. |
But you, who was pouting, |
| are never coming to prod me. |
With my fingertips that have taken on a trace of heat, |
枯れた声と | and with my withered voice, |
| I'm singing my love through a C-D-Em progression. |
| If you bring it with you, take it back. |
| You won't be able to abandon it. |
Whines and tears truly spilled forth, but, |
あぁ、 | ahh, |
あなたが積み上げた全部を、 | it's because everything you've piled up |
| I'm going to inherit. |
| I'll keep looking after it without complaining, ok? |
Translator Notes[]
- ↑ Although 青 typically refers to "blue," I am translating it here as "green" because I am interpreting this line as referring to the changing of traffic lights.
- ↑ Conversion history (変換履歴) seems to refer to a phone or computer's history of predictive conversions from kana to kanji executed while typing in Japanese.
