Japanese English
With your wounded heart,
And my wounded finger,
On a day that's neither a birthday nor anniversary,
How about a meaningless celebration
Where we are headed
踵張り付く悩みも even the doubts clinging to your ankles
置いては行けない損な持ち物 are baggage we can't help but drag along

The state of the world,
The fate of tomorrow,
年末まで結構近いなとかも even realising this year has almost ended

Are just in our way!
In the way of our walk

Translation Notes[]

  1. Curry rice is Kasukabe Tsumugi's favorite food in her official profile.
  2. 2.0 2.1 Chigasaki and Kasukabe are both cities with a population of around 240,000 and about two hours from Tokyo by car. Chigasaki is a seaside resort located about 50 km south of Tokyo, while Kasukabe is an inland suburb located about 30 km north of Tokyo.
  3. "朝日得た一缶" is composed so that it can also be interpreted as "朝冷えた一缶" (in the morning, for a chilled can of beer...), given that the MV shows a parodied Asahi Super Dry can and that it's common to drink cold beer in Japan.
  4. "ぽん 惰性" is clearly sung as "パー出せ!" (Play paper!), as the MV here shows that Fuuko plays scissors and loses.
  5. This line incorporates the idiom 三竦み, a term from Japanese folklore that refers to the standoff between a snake, a slug, and a frog, where each one is a naturally scared of another. This creates a triple deadlock where none of them can move, meaning they're in a stalemate.
